Hamazasp Babadzhanian and Armenian Armored Warfare

Hamazasp Babadzhanian (1906–1977) became one of the best-known Armenian commanders associated with Soviet armored forces.

He served in tank and mechanized formations during World War II and received recognition for his combat leadership.

Armored warfare was central to Soviet offensive operations.

Tanks and mechanized formations supported breakthroughs, exploitation of weakened enemy positions, and rapid advances across large territories.

Babadzhanian's wartime service helped establish the reputation that later carried him into senior positions within Soviet armored forces.

In 1975, he received the rank of Chief Marshal of Armored Troops.
